**Insurers Global** is a free, read-only directory of the world's licensed insurance companies — 10,362 insurers, reinsurers, takaful operators, health, microinsurance and captive entities across 160 markets on five continents — researched and maintained by Kenbright Actuarial and Financial Services North America and checked against the regulators' own registers. ### What you can ask - Which life insurers are licensed in Ghana, and who supervises them - The register record for a named company: class of business, ownership, regulator, identifiers - In which countries a group such as Allianz holds licences, and through which entities - Which reinsurers operate in a given market - What became of an insurer named on an old policy, and who carries the business today ### Tools Twelve, all read-only and non-destructive: `search_insurers`, `list_insurers`, `get_country`, `get_country_summary`, `get_directory_info`, `get_insurer`, `list_groups`, `list_iaigs`, `get_group`, `get_footprint`, `list_regulators`, `resolve_former_name`. Alongside the company records the directory covers 244 multi-country groups, the 59 Internationally Active Insurance Groups on the IAIS register, and the supervisory authority for every market. ### How the answers are grounded Every result carries the dataset version, the CC BY 4.0 licence and the verification level of the register it came from, so an answer can be cited rather than merely asserted. Each record names its supervisor and says whether its class of business was read from the register or inferred. Two limits the tools state in their own results, and that an agent should repeat: - **Absence is not evidence.** A company the directory does not hold is not thereby unlicensed. - **Counts by class count entities, not licences.** Every company appears once, under the single class its register row records, so a supervisor's own per-class tally is drawn differently and will not match. ### Access No account, no API key and no configuration — the server has nothing to ask you for and writes nothing.
